Blog #3

My first semester of college, I was rather successful. In my opinion, the statement that high schools can only prepare you for admittance into college rather than the college experience is wrong and right. Nobody can prepare you for being on your own for the first time ever the way experience does. The best way for me to learn is to jump right in. Non- academically,  Hjortshoj was correct. Academically, I believe my high school prepared me well to succeed. The challenges I have faced in the classroom so far have been nothing short of difficult, but I stick to my strategies I learned in high school and will continue to work hard. Other than alertness and flexibility, I think that bing self aware and knowing your limits are two very important skills for college as well. I was cold, tired, and my whole body was stiff. When I came to, I realized I had spent the night in a prison holding cell. For the life of me, I just couldn't remember what had happened. I stood up real quick asking for a guard, the only problem was that the lone guard gave me nothing but a disgusted look. So I sat back down and felt the contents of my pocket jiggle around. I figured the only shot I had at piecing the night together was to empty my pockets and see what I had left. The first item I had pulled out was bottle cap. My friends and I had gone to Spanky's Bar last night. It was a Corona cap, I could still taste the lime on my lips. Clearly I had just a little too much to drink. With the cap was a folded up piece of paper. On it was a phone number with a message that read "call me <3". The bartender, who's name I still can't remember had definitely given that to me, as I had been flirting all night. Next came out weird note that had been glued toge...
